In the face of intensified industry competition and structural challenges in the supply chain, China's leading melamine veneer companies have launched a vertical integration strategy of the industrial chain to build an integrated ecology of "raw materials-plates-homeware" and enhance core competitiveness. Relying on its own MDI adhesive technology, Wanhua Chemical has created a whole industrial chain layout of "chemical raw materials-adhesive-environmentally friendly board-customized home", and its Yantai base has an annual output of 3.8 million cubic meters of aldehyde-free boards all using self-produced MDI glue, and the unit production cost is 12.6% lower than that of the purchased adhesive system.

On the raw material side, the forest board integration model has been gradually promoted, and enterprises such as Daya Shengxiang and Fenglin Group have increased the raw material self-sufficiency rate to 45%-60%, effectively coping with the constraints of wood resources. The melamine integration project in Xinjiang's Zhundong Economic and Technological Development Zone is expected to reduce raw material transportation costs by 30% in North China after it is put into operation in 2026, further optimizing the regional supply chain layout. At the same time, leading enterprises have strengthened supply chain ESG management and included indicators such as environmental protection certification and R&D investment in the supplier evaluation system. According to industry reports, from 2021 to 2025, 12 benchmark enterprises will have a cumulative R&D investment of 18.64 billion yuan, and hold 682 effective invention patents related to environmental protection boards, accounting for 41.5% of the total industry.
